Trunk or Treat

We had a trunk or treat at our church this past Wednesday. They had games, prizes, lots of treats and then the "Trunk-or-Treat" followed. My boys were the cutest monsters alive! (Thanks to my dad for picking out their costumes!!)

(Sorry it's blurry.) Since our little one became more mobile, he finds more reasons to escape us. We caught him sneaking over to the donut eating contest to eat the pieces of donut that had fallen on the floor. Double yuck!

So then daddy decided to show him the real way to eat the donuts. It wasn't until after that he mentioned how the thought crossed his mind how many mouths had been on the string he chewed the donut off of. That changed my mind about trying it.

Our trunk. The flash kind of ruined the ambiance. We had a strobe light, other lights and some extra "spooky" Halloween music.

Our beautiful witch passing out candy. My mother-in-law was so cute dancing and passing out candy. Until the kids came back around 4 or 5 times; then the fun kind of stopped.

Happy Halloween!!

Makai's First Steps

Makai is walking now. He took his first steps on October 2nd. Throughout the next 2 weeks, he slowly worked his way up to walking everywhere. I didn't mind that he wasn't in a hurry to walk. Though now that he's walking I think it's adorable. I love baby steps. Ezra literally started out running, so it's really cute to see how cautious Makai's steps are. I am totally the cheesy mom who tears up watching her baby take his first steps.

I had to share this little gem I found on my camera too. I'm technologically challenged, so sorry it's sideways. I caught Ezra and thankfully had my camera to blackmail.

The Many Faces of Ez

This kid keeps us smiling. He's wild and crazy and totally lovable. He literally runs around the house all the time. He makes funny faces, tells funny stories and wears me out to the max. He makes life beautiful.

This is James' Uncle Mitch. He came out from California for a boat show and we were able to meet up with him for dinner! I think they look so much alike, but no one else agrees with me. What do you think?

I guess our hope of a "nice" picture isn't realistic with Crazy Ez.

I just can't figure out where he gets it from...

Oops

Who's the smart mommy who gave her 1 year old a painting pen?

You're thinking... "where was that boy's mama?" right? I was RIGHT next to him. A+ for distracted mom. Oops.

Which is why our project the next day was finger painting. That's supposed to be messy, so it was perfect for Makai.

Makai's ^

Ezra's ^

And just because he's cute:

He is ALWAYS climbing into baskets.

Ezra's First Field Trip

Ezra had his first ever field trip October 3rd. Since James doesn't need to leave for work until 11:30 am, I was able to leave Mak with him and take Ezra. We went to Green Meadows Petting Farm. They had lots of cute little animals, an opportunity to milk a cow, a pig race, hayride and a pumpkin patch. Ezra LOVED it.

He was not interested in milking the cow, so we moved right onto the animals.

He especially loved the hayride. He squealed almost the whole ride.

He was also quite captivated by the week old piggies nursing. I asked him to come look at other animals at least three times, but he just kept staring. They were SOO cute.

They also had a tractor the kids could climb on; since no farm is complete without one.

Buuut...the main reason we were there was for the pumpkin patch. He asked every 5 minutes or so if we could go to the pumpkin patch.

He had a hard time deciding.

And then he finally settled on this one :

We HAD to decorate it the very next day. It was so fun to have an adventure with just my little Ez! I love field trips and I'm pretty sure Ezra does now too.

The County Fair

Pop-pop and Grandma Lene took us to the County Fair the middle of September. Ezra had a ball on all the rides. We even got to ride a camel!! I never thought I'd ride a camel. The guy had me sit on the hump. Hmm. Ouch. Ezra thought it was pretty cool.

He went on most of the rides by himself. Watching your children enjoy something is truthfully as much fun or more fun than actually going on the ride yourself. His laughter makes my days brighter.

Totally love his face in this one ^

And sweet, sweaty little Mak was a patient observer... for the most part. I did find myself getting excited for the days when he and Ezra can go on the rides and laugh together.
